Memory foam is a remarkable product that was originally developed for NASA as part of the space program.  It was subsequently further developed into a commerically viable product and now forms part of a number of different products about the home.

An alternative name for the foam is visco-elastic foam, although as this is something of a mouthful the term memory foam has really caught on and you will rarely now see it referred to as anything else.

Probably the most common product that incorporate memory foam are bedding products.  Perhaps the first significant product to use it was the memory foam mattress, but the success of this product soon evolved the use of it into memory foam mattress toppers which were cheaper than memory foam mattresses whilst being almost as comfortable.  Then came memory foam pillows and nowadays there are a number of other products that utilise memory foam in their construction.  You can even now get memory foam slippers for both ladies and men.
